Russian forces shot two Ukrainian soldiers near Dobropillia, Donetsk region

Investigators are currently conducting urgent investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the tragedy and to identify the specific Russian military personnel involved in the crime.

Law enforcement agencies are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war resulting in death.

The killing of prisoners of war constitutes a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime, the Prosecutor’s Office emphasized.

According to the Office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman, since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, occupying forces have executed at least 345 Ukrainian servicemen on the battlefield after they had surrendered.
