Odesa under attack again: homes, a sanatorium, and the botanical garden damaged

On the morning of September 13, Russian forces continued to attack civilian infrastructure in Odesa and the Odesa region. The upper floors of a high-rise apartment building, private homes, warehouses, and a children’s sanatorium were damaged. A fire broke out on the grounds of the Botanical Garden. Information regarding potential casualties from these new morning strikes is currently being verified.

Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, reported the new attack at approximately 10:27 AM.

According to his statement, Russian forces are striking civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. The morning attack damaged the upper floors of a high-rise residential building and private homes.

Damage to warehouses and a children’s sanatorium was also recorded.

A fire broke out at the Botanical Garden following the strike. The extent of the damage at these sites is currently being assessed.

As of the initial report from the Regional Military Administration, there was no data yet on the number of casualties from this specific morning wave of attacks; information is being clarified.

Attacks on Odesa continued virtually throughout the night leading into September 13.

It is already known that 20 people were injured as a result of the massive Russian attack. Among them are two children: a boy born in 2010 and a girl born in 2017.

On the evening of September 12, a Russian jet-powered UAV struck the city’s logistics infrastructure, damaging a branch of the logistics company Nova Poshta. The building’s facade and glazing were damaged, and a truck was also affected.

Two people were injured in the strike. Rescue workers and firefighting units operated at the scene.

Additionally, a Russian attack during the night caused further damage to a multi-story building in Odesa.
