On September 17, a Russian drone struck a civilian vessel flying the Tanzanian flag in the Black Sea as it was heading to a Ukrainian port. The captain was killed, and three crew members were injured. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, Russia continues to systematically target port infrastructure and the civilian fleet, posing a threat to international shipping.
Ukraine continues to work with international partners to strengthen the protection of civilian shipping, maintain the operation of maritime logistics routes, and prevent further security threats in the Black Sea.
Following a series of Russian attacks, shipowners are wary of sending vessels to Ukrainian ports.
