Five people injured in Russian shelling of Kharkiv region

On September 19, the city of Kharkiv and 12 settlements in the Kharkiv region came under Russian attack. Five people, including a child, were injured as a result of the shelling.

Two people were injured in Balakliia: a 14-year-old boy suffered an acute stress reaction, and a 19-year-old man sustained injuries. A 32-year-old woman was wounded in Derhachi. In Zolochiv, a 72-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction. Another casualty was a 50-year-old man from Izium.

Throughout the day on September 19, Russian forces used various types of weapons against the Kharkiv region. Kharkiv was attacked with drones; strikes hit the city’s Slobidskyi and Industrialnyi districts.

In total, Russian forces deployed two missiles, two multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), three “Molniya” (Lightning) type drones, eight FPV drones, and 11 other UAVs of unidentified types. These attacks damaged residential buildings, vehicles, shops, outbuildings, and infrastructure facilities.

In the Bohodukhiv district, a vehicle, two private houses, and outbuildings were damaged. Power lines in Zolochiv were also affected. In the Kupiansk district, a vehicle was damaged in the village of Troitske. Significant damage was recorded in the Izium district; in Balakliia, five private houses, two shops, two outbuildings, a garage, and an administrative building were damaged. Railway infrastructure was also affected. In Barvinkove, two vehicles and two shops were damaged by shelling. In Izium, two private houses, two vehicles, and an outbuilding sustained damage. In the Kharkiv district, two vehicles, a private house, and a shop were damaged in Derhachi, while another vehicle was damaged in the village of Bilashi.

In the Lozova district, a private house was damaged in the village of Vyshneve. Power lines in the settlement of Blyzniuky were also damaged by the strikes. In the Chuhuiv district, two private houses, a cultural center, an educational institution, and a bus were damaged in the village of Artemivka. Thus, Russian strikes over the past day affected residential buildings, civilian infrastructure, vehicles, and power grids. Five people were injured, including a child.

The threat of further Russian attacks persists in the Kharkiv region; therefore, local authorities urge residents not to ignore air raid sirens and to stay in shelters during shelling.
