Russian attack damages historic university building in Zaporizhzhia

A Russian strike on September 21 damaged two buildings at Zaporizhzhia National University: the administrative building and the biology building, which is housed in a historic structure. University faculty and students even joined in the cleanup and recovery efforts.

A large number of windows were blown out across the two buildings, facades and interiors were damaged, and structural debris was left scattered around the site. The biology building, housed in a historic brick structure, sustained particularly significant damage. Windows were blown out, panes were shattered, and parts of the structure were partially destroyed. The area around the building is littered with glass shards, construction debris, and other refuse.

Damage was also recorded in the university’s administrative building; windows there were blown out as well, and some of the premises require repair.
