A church in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district—the Holy Intercession Church, affiliated with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)—was damaged during a Russian attack on the city on the night of September 24.
The blast wave damaged the building’s windows, domes, and façade. The church is notable for being constructed from unplastered yellow Kyiv brick.
Built in 1906 in the Priorka neighborhood and dedicated to the Intercession of the Holy Virgin, it is considered the oldest church in the Mostytskyi and Vynohradar neighborhoods.
A maternity hospital and the Podilskyi District Consultative and Diagnostic Center were also damaged in the Podilskyi district as a result of the ballistic missile attack.
