Two Red Cross workers injured in Zaporizhzhia region while responding to an attack site

On the morning of October 6, a Ukrainian Red Cross rapid response team in the Zaporizhzhia region was аn route to the scene of an emergency to assist victims.

An explosion occurred near the Ukrainian Red Cross vehicle while it was moving, injuring two members of the rapid response team.

One of the staff members sustained shrapnel wounds; he is currently hospitalized under medical supervision and receiving necessary treatment.

The second staff member sustained minor injuries and was discharged from the hospital after receiving medical care. The Ukrainian Red Cross categorically condemns attacks that endanger humanitarian workers and damage vehicles clearly marked with the Red Cross emblem.

“Despite constant danger and daily shelling, the Ukrainian Red Cross continues to carry out its humanitarian mission—helping the civilian population, saving lives, and supporting people in need,” the organization emphasized.
