On October 25, Russian forces attacked a cattle farm in the Konotop district of the Sumy region. An enemy drone strike resulted in the death of a female employee, while four other individuals sustained injuries of varying severity.
The strike hit the grounds of the agricultural enterprise directly, at a time when people were working there. The victim was a young woman who would have turned 32 in a few days. Local authorities and representatives of the Sumy Regional Military Administration confirmed the attack and provided updates on the condition of those affected.
Two of the injured were urgently hospitalized. According to preliminary medical assessments, their injuries are not life-threatening, though they will require specialized treatment and rehabilitation. Two other victims received medical attention at the scene. In addition to human casualties, the shelling caused significant damage to the livestock sector; the explosion affected the herd, resulting in both animal deaths and injuries. The exact number of losses among cattle is currently being determined, as specialists continue to survey the area and clear debris at the impact site.
The agricultural sector in the Sumy region remains a constant target for Russian forces. Despite the ongoing threat, farmers continue their work to ensure food security; however, such strikes severely complicate agricultural operations and pose risks to the lives of staff.
