In Melitopol, the Russian military is “nationalizing” the apartments of local residents

The Russian military, with the help of local traitors, extort industrial enterprises and small and medium-sized business objects from their owners, and register them in the Russian legislative field.

Melitopol Gauleiter went further – in Melitopol – the first “nationalization” of apartments began in the occupied territories.

The house on the street Badygina, 1/1, in Melitopol, where the Russians “nationalized” social apartments bought by the Melitopol City Council for orphans.

This is evidenced by the documents of the so-called “Ministry of Property and Land Relations of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration”.

Only in the first decade of March 2023, about fifty private apartments located in various parts of Melitopol were included by representatives of the Russian authorities in the list of objects of the so-called “ownerless property”. The Russians recognize as such any property whose owners have not personally provided the illegal “administration” with title documents for it, because, for example, they left for the territory controlled by Ukraine.

Among them are eleven “social” apartments located in the building at prov. Badygina, 1/1, in the southern part of the city. In 2017, twelve apartments in this building were purchased by the Melitopol City Council with the funds of the state program and given to orphans and children deprived of parental care and family-type orphanages. At that time, 8 million hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for this.

At the time of moving in, the apartments were repaired at state expense, plumbing was installed, and the necessary minimum furniture was purchased – beds, stoves, sinks. There is also social housing in two neighboring five-story buildings. In addition, part of their apartments was bought by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine for transfer to servicemen of the Melitopol transport aviation brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“After the occupation, the Russians were almost the first to come to these houses. They knew that some apartments were occupied by military personnel, and they searched for them. If the apartment was empty and the neighbors did not have keys, they even broke down the door,” said one of the residents of the apartment building.

According to him, a lot depends on the elders in the house. Currently, it is they who collect information about vacant apartments and pass it on to the Russians.

“In our entrance, the older woman has already passed on the information to the “administration”, but no one has been moved in yet,” confirms the resident of the house on the street. Vakulenchuk.

According to the Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov, empty apartments are also discovered through “raids”.

“A group of Russian soldiers goes around houses in various districts of Melitopol, demands that civilians who live in apartments present the originals of documents for ownership of housing or a notarized power of attorney. Copies are not accepted, if the originals are not available, they are threatened with eviction. Empty apartments, owners who left the occupation, are marked with Z-marks “nationalization”, that is, Fedorov said.

Wringing property became one of the tasks of the new “authority” after the occupation of the Zaporizhzhia region. It began after the decree of Gauleiter Yevhen Balytskyi.
