The Russians continue to hide the traces of their crimes in Mariupol: they demolish houses in whole blocks

Russian troops are systematically destroying the civil infrastructure of the cities of the Donetsk region. They also continue the policy of genocide against the local civilian population. The region has actually been depopulated, residents are leaving their homes and moving away from dangerous places.

Four buildings along Khmelnytskyi Boulevard were gone. Every day, the Russians demolish the houses of Mariupol residents in all areas of the city. Instead of them – only wasteland and chests of stones.

“More than 50% of high-rise buildings were destroyed, which is 1,356 houses. The Russians continue to hide the traces of their crimes and talk about demolishing more than 900 houses. They are trying to hide the traces of their war crimes. It is necessary to record everything that the Russian army has done and ensure that every Russian war criminal is held accountable for what he has done,” said Mariupol chairman Vadym Boychenko.

The Russians are looting the houses that survived their shelling. Russian marauders took everything from the apartments, down to the toilet lid.

One of the residents of the city returned to his mother-in-law’s apartment and said that the Russian military had broken down the door and looted everything: furniture, appliances, clothes. Later, the collaborative authorities decided to demolish this house.

“This is what “liberation” looks like in occupied Mariupol. Looted houses, broken destinies and destroyed peaceful life.” – wrote in the Mariupol City Council.

Fewer than 3,000 civilians remained in Bakhmut, of which 33 were children

The head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavlo Kirylenko, said that less than 3,000 civilians remained in Bakhmut.

There are 33 children among the civilians. Before the war, more than 72 thousand people lived in the city.

“Evacuation continues, and not only in Bakhmut, we are working along the entire front line,” Kirylenko said.

He noted that more than a million people left Donetsk region after February 24, 2022.

“There are still people who categorically do not want to leave, and it is very difficult to persuade them. From February 24, 2022, more than 1,100,000 of the 1,670,000 population of the Donetsk region left,” Kyrylenko said.
