In the Dnipropetrovsk region, fragments of a Russian rocket got stuck in a house: how did the night of May 9 pass
On the night of May 8 to 9, the Dnipropetrovsk region was sounded several times by air raid alarms. The threat of an attack was reported late in the evening of May 8, but on the morning of May 9, the Russian army intended to attack the region again.
During the night, the troops of the Air Command “East” eliminated eight missiles. Seven shells flew in the direction of the Dnipro. Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, reported on the successful work of the Air Defense Forces. In the morning it became known that the fragments of the rocket fell on a four-story building in Dnipro.
A 32-year-old woman was injured due to falling fragments of a Russian projectile. She was hospitalized with head and spinal injuries. The roof and ceilings of several apartments were damaged in the building. The warhead of the projectile was found on the third floor of the building. It was necessary to evacuate 40 people while emergency workers worked on the spot. The wreckage was removed and will be destroyed.
The Russians directed heavy artillery at Nikopol region. They beat Nikopol and the Marganets community. It is known about the destruction of four houses and the complete destruction of another private house. An economic building and power lines were also damaged. No one from the local population was injured. This was announced by Mykola Lukashuk, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council.
Kherson region
14 people were wounded as a result of shelling in the Kherson region
On May 8, the Russian army carried out 46 shellings of the right-bank Kherson region, firing 320 shells from heavy artillery, Grads, tanks, LNG, UAVs and aviation. The regional center – the city of Kherson – also came under fire.
Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional military administration, announced this.
During the shelling, the occupiers targeted the residential quarters of the populated areas of the region, as well as the building of a school, a dispensary, a boarding house for the elderly, and the premises of the village council.
As a result of Russian aggression, 14 people were injured, one of them was a child.
As for population evacuation, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, 38 people were evacuated from the de-occupied territory of the region.
On May 8, Russian troops also shelled the territory of Bilozerska and Stanislavska communities in the Kherson region. As a result of the attack, part of the premises of the Stanislavsky Village Council was destroyed.
Stanislav village head Ivan Samoilenko told journalists about this.
According to the head of the community, one person was hospitalized with a shrapnel wound in the hand, and eight other local residents received minor injuries.
As a result of the shelling, one private house was destroyed, four cars were damaged, windows were broken in the cultural center and in the premises near the hardware store.
Also in Antonivka, two people – a 67-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man – were wounded by Russian shelling. They were hospitalized.
The woman suffered serious injuries – multiple shrapnel wounds to the head, chest and abdomen. Doctors are doing everything possible to save her life.
Also, over the past weekend, the enemy fired artillery, rocket salvo systems, tanks, aviation, and UAVs in the populated areas of the right bank.
From the planes, the occupiers dropped guided aerial bombs on the village. Vesele, the village of Kozatske and the village of Kizomys, there is damage and destruction of residential buildings, farm buildings and cars. In the village of Kizomys, 14 households were previously damaged. The occupiers attacked the Borozen community, probably with a cruise missile, the explosion occurred outside the settlement, there was no damage or injuries. The Russian military also fired machine gun fire at the village of Vesele, seriously injuring a 62-year-old woman.
The Russian army shelled Kherson and suburban settlements around the clock. Due to enemy shells, windows and balcony frames were damaged in high-rise buildings, and the destruction of private homes in the coastal areas of the city was recorded. As a result of the artillery shelling of the village of Priozerne, a local resident received a brain injury. According to the facts of war crimes committed by the Russian army in the Kherson region, the police opened 20 criminal proceedings.
Zaporizhzhia region
In Zaporizhzhia, on May 8, the Russians fired 68 shots: a child was injured
Russian troops continue to attack peaceful settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region. Over the past day, they carried out 68 armed attacks. 19 towns and villages came under enemy fire, a child was injured as a result of the shelling.
The Zaporizhia Regional Military Administration has published an up-to-date daily summary of the situation with enemy shelling on the territory of the region. So, in total, the occupying forces of the Russian Federation made 68 strikes on 19 front-line settlements: – 65 artillery shells; – 2 shots from the MLRS; – 1 UAV attack.
A total of 38 reports were recorded about the destruction of residential buildings, cars and other private property, premises of social institutions, and utility networks. The head of the regional military administration, Yuriy Malashko, said that a 15-year-old resident of Matviyivska hromada was wounded during the shelling from the Smerch anti-aircraft missile system.
Mykolaiv Region
During the day, 4 more civilian objects were damaged by Russian shelling in Mykolaiv Region
As of May 9, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, 17,720 civilian objects have been partially or completely damaged in the Mykolayiv region.
This was reported in the press service of the Mykolaiv regional military administration. Among them: objects of the housing fund – 11735; medical institutions – 103; educational institutions – 421; cultural institutions – 204; objects of industrial enterprises – 199; life support facilities: gas – 1408, electricity – 1118, water – 43, heat supply – 96; other non-military objects – 2393.
At the moment, works are ongoing in the region to restore gas supply in the settlements affected by the war. Currently, only 5,201 consumers are without gas supply.
During the next day, in order to eliminate the consequences of Russian-fascist aggression, units of the main department of the State Emergency Service were involved 17 times to identify explosive objects, 29 explosive objects were seized.
Voluntary evacuation is underway. As of May 9, there are 376 internally displaced persons in temporary accommodation facilities in Mykolaiv.
