The number of people fleeing the war in Ukraine has risen to more than 1.7 million, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to the agency, about 1.03 million people – arrived to Poland. More than 180,000 went to Hungary and 128,000 to Slovakia.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in Montpellier, France, called for mobilizing “all EU resources” to help countries accepting refugees from Ukraine, including neighboring Poland and Romania.

Some organizations predict about 5 or even 7 million refugees till the end of war.
