The Russians struck the Zaporizhzhia region with Iskander and Kh-35 missiles: houses were damaged, people were killed

In the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian army struck with Iskander-M missiles, and in Zaporizhzhia with X-35 missiles. Also, the Russians struck with aviation, artillery, rocket salvo systems and attacked 18 settlements of Pologiv and Vasyliv districts with unmanned aerial vehicles on August 9.

With two “Iskander-M” missiles, the Russian military struck an open area near the village of Pidhirne, Zaporizhzhia district. As a result of the Russian shelling, the dry grass in the forest strip caught fire. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire.

The Russians covered the houses of the residents of Gulyaipol with “Hail”. Four people received injuries of varying degrees of severity. All of them were hospitalized.

Also yesterday, the Russians struck Zaporizhzhia with an Kh-35 missile. Apartments in residential high-rise buildings, shops, educational institutions and cars were damaged. As a result of Russian terror, three civilians were killed, nine others, including a one-year-old child, were injured.

Investigators of the police and the Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 438 “Violation of laws and customs of war” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On the evening of August 9, a Russian ballistic missile hit a residential area of Zaporizhzhia. As reported in the regional military administration, the church and shops were destroyed. People who were on the street at that time were injured by the fragments of the rocket. Three people died, 9 people, including a child, were injured.

The blast wave damaged 15 high-rise buildings. The city hall noted that applications for broken windows and damaged balconies were received for more than 400 apartments.

Utility workers of the Municipal Emergency Service “Zaporizhremservis” and the city emergency rescue service eliminated the consequences of the arrival until midnight.

In the morning, representatives of social protection worked on the spot with the residents of the affected housing.

The death of two female singers in Zaporizhzhia is being reported on social networks. The girls were singing just in the area where the flight happened.

The girls recorded a video that they had already been brought to the place. According to preliminary data, one girl died at the scene of the explosion, the other fought for her life until morning.

Khrystyna and Svitlana are talented singers, they have been working together since 2022, according to their acquaintances. The girls sang both on the street and in concert halls. They could often be seen on Mayakovsky Avenue, in Shevchenkivsky District. They recently returned from Kyiv. And yesterday they were supposed to make a speech precisely in the Shevchenkiv district of Zaporizhzhia, where the flight took place.

According to official information from the regional military administration, one 19-year-old girl died yesterday, and another 21-year-old girl died in intensive care this morning. They have no information about their identities yet. But in the comments on the girls’ pages, it is already reported that it was Svitlana who died immediately, and Khrystyna fought for her life until today, but she died in the morning of August 10.

On August 10, the secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council, Anatolii Kurtev, reported that the Russian military fired at Zaporizhzhia once again, hitting a civilian infrastructure object.

“A fire broke out at the place of arrival. Unfortunately, there are victims. The information is being clarified. The relevant services are already working,” he wrote.

Later, he clarified that at the moment it is known about two victims, they were taken to a medical institution in a state of light severity. The head of the regional military administration, Yuriy Malashko, said that there were no military targets at the site of the attack, and that the area was “very crowded” at the time.
