During a night attack, the Russian Federation destroyed a sailing school in Odesa

On the night of October 17, Russian troops attacked Odessa and destroyed the building of the sailing school and the boats on which the children were training

The Youth and Sports Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine informs about this.

“There were 150 children aged 6 to 18 studying at the school. Recently, there were no classes with access to the sea, we worked on trips to other locations in Ukraine and beyond. Here, in Odessa, was the main methodical base of the school, where we gathered instructors and specialists in sailing and developed plans for the future. Now the school is destroyed,” said the director of the Children’s and Youth Sports School of Sailing No. 13 Vyacheslav Kravchenko.

Not only the building, but also boats, yachts and boats were damaged. Specialists will determine whether the building can be restored. Each boat is worth from 3 to 15 thousand euros, this money was allocated by the parents of the students, sponsors and the Odesa City Council.

The director also said that children’s and youth sports school of sailing No. 13 is famous not only in Ukraine, but also all over the world.

“Our student Alina Shapovalova became the world champion in sailing a few months ago. This is a great achievement, and there have been no such awards for many years. Also, our children won the championship of Ukraine, won in international tournaments. There was no sense in such a blow. This is a country that destroys the achievements of children. It’s just horror, there are no other words. the Russian Federation should be punished for this,” Kravchenko emphasized.
