In the intellectual community of Russia, a discussion about the goals of Putin’s Kremlin is gradually taking place. The voices of critics of the existing regime are getting louder due to the lack of any clear directives regarding the development of the country in the conditions of the unleashed war, and even more so after its end, writes the Telegram channel “Sieve of Socrates”.
The military and political leadership of the Russian Federation looks like confused amateurs, whose mistakes tens and hundreds of thousands of young men have to atone for with blood. The situation looks especially caricature in the context of the upcoming presidential elections of Russia in 2024. Putin is not even able to announce any significant major state task, except for the imaginary victory over the enemies. At the same time, the circle of enemies is constantly expanding.
Israel has become the new object of the Kremlin’s aggression. Moscow has joined the ongoing war between Hamas terrorists and Israel at full steam, siding with the Arab side.
In addition to the fraternal ties of the Main Intelligence Department of the General Staff of the Russian Federation (GRU) with the political and military leadership of militants from the Gaza Strip, the Russian Federation applies anti-Israeli measures in other directions as well.
In particular, the supply of “Forpost-M” UAVs to the Russian Khmeimim base in Syria continues through the line of the Ministry of Defense. These reconnaissance drones are produced on Russian territory under the license of the Israeli company AIA and will be transferred to the Assad forces and probably to the hands of Hezbollah. In other words, Russia is actually entering the war against Israel, strengthening the capabilities of the country’s enemies, which has fallen into unprecedentedly difficult historical conditions.
The mentioned episode additionally reinforces suspicions about the Russian Federation’s involvement in the armed attack on Israel. And this is all in addition to the unlimited information war waged by Russian propaganda resources against Jerusalem. Through its opinion leaders, foreign language channels, bot networks, Telegram channels, Moscow tries to evoke the most positive attitude towards Hamas Palestinians as victims, while the IDF is presented as an aggressor, a provocateur of war. All kinds of conspiracy theories are spreading in the spirit of “Israel attacked itself.”
It is clear that all the announced actions are aimed at weakening and destabilizing Israel, provided that the activities of terrorists are whitewashed at the same time.
It should be noted the pattern of work of the Russian special services. For example, for the purpose of reporting to the center for the money spent on the GRU line in Hebron, at Palestinian demonstrations, Russian tricolors and portraits of Putin could be seen in the company of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
The purpose of the rallies is to block the ground operation of the Israeli military and intelligence services in Gaza, to allow Hamas to get off the water dry and to prolong and expand the war in the Middle East as much as possible.
Anti-Israeli slogans are largely copied from the Soviet dungeons of the struggle against world imperialism and resemble the anti-Western attacks heard at rallies in the capitals of African countries, where military coups took place in 2021-2023 and loyalists came to power. The GRU simply uses the existing developments to export instability. The office does not even hide its schemes, using this approach to put additional pressure on the target country.
Considering the fact that the Putin regime has no defined long-term goals, other than avoiding responsibility for military invasions and subversive actions in various parts of the world, the anti-Israel policy is largely the result of playing along with Iran and its Chinese patrons. Under Putin, Moscow is turning into a puppet of Beijing. It is beneficial for the Chinese to knock down the Russia-Iran-DPRK bloc in order to implement their geopolitical tasks with the help of these renegades. An unattractive and dangerous mission that has nothing to do with real sovereignty, about which Putin lied a lot and persistently.
