
Due to shelling of the Kharkiv region by the Russian Federation, a forest fire started in the region. Its area is more than 9 hectares.

The fire started as a result of shelling of the front-line settlements of the Kupyan district, namely the village of Kolesnikivka. The State Emergency Service notes that a large-scale ground fire in the coniferous litter of a pine forest occurred due to the Russians’ strikes. The fire was extinguished around 5 p.m. There were no casualties.
The situation in the region
According to the regional military administration, on April 2, Russian troops shelled 15 settlements in the Kharkiv region with artillery and mortars.
On the evening of April 2, the Russians shelled Novoosynov, Kupyan district. As a result of the attack, a private house was damaged. A 58-year-old man died on the spot, and his 11-year-old son died of his injuries in the hospital.
On the night of April 3, the Russians dropped guided aerial bombs on Kupyansk and Borova — there were no casualties.
