In Melitopol, the Russian occupiers are pressing the exchange business in the style of the 90s

Either pay the share, or wait for the consequences. Lovers of the “Russian world” in Melitopol finally learned what it is like to do business in Russia.

It is known for certain that all currency exchange points in the occupied Melitopol are being “crushed” by the Russian invaders. Some of the money changers entered into an agreement with the enemy voluntarily, some were forced by force. Now the city is dominated by the total arbitrariness of the occupiers, who sincerely demonstrate to the people of Melitopol what it means to conduct “business in Russian”.

There are several points at once in the Microdistrict and Riga Market where you can exchange or transfer money to cash. Informed people say that the Russian occupiers and representatives of the special services regularly conduct “explanatory tours” here in order to convey to the money changers that they “must share”. The racists threatened that there would be serious consequences for those who did not comply with their demands.

The other day there was an incident here that clearly demonstrated what the invaders meant by “consequences” for disobedience. Residents of the Microdistrict report that the owner of one of the local exchangers was thrown “into the basement” by the occupiers, and his business was sealed. Russian thugs took all the money of the Melitopol man. The further fate of the businessman, who was captured by the Rashists and released into the world, is unknown.

According to rumors, the reason for such a robbery was the victim’s indignation that many “wishers” come to him to get a share of his business. It is obvious that there is no order among the invaders themselves as to who “crushes” and “milks” whom – all zones of influence are distributed according to the principle of brute force and regularly change “from hand to hand”. Therefore, situations where a whole “queue” of applicants to receive a percentage is searched for one business is a common phenomenon in Russian-occupied Melitopol.

It is worth noting that this state of affairs is not unique to Melitopol and is an everyday norm in Russia itself. The spirit of the 90s, as before, flourishes in Russia, where having a successful business means that you either pay a share for the “roof” to “respected people”, or you lose business altogether, which will be “taken away” by the same “respected people”. by force and threats, forcing them to transfer all the property to them for pennies, formalizing it as a “sale”. Every year in Russia, hundreds of thousands of businesses are taken by force or simply destroyed in order not to create competition for existing monopolists – information about all these high-profile cases can easily be found in the media. Lovers of the “Russian world” would do well to learn about this before calling Russian invaders to Ukrainian land.
