A large-scale fire broke out in the center of Kharkiv due to a UAV attack

On the night of February 2, a Russian drone hit a civilian enterprise in the center of Kharkiv. A powerful fire broke out there in a production and warehouse building.

No one was injured as a result of the Russian attack. This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Synegubov, and the State Emergency Service showed footage from the scene.

“In Kharkiv, as a result of a UAV hit, paper, textile and polymer materials were burning in a warehouse building of a civilian enterprise. There was no information about the casualties,” the head of the region reported, indicating that the hit occurred around midnight.

According to the State Emergency Service, the shelling caused a fire with an area of ​​2,000 sq. m. At 01:27, the fire was localized, and as of this morning, its elimination was still ongoing. 45 rescuers and eight pieces of equipment were involved.

The spokesman for the regional rescuers, Yevhen Vasylenko, said that warehouses and production facilities with textile products and polyester raw materials were burning in the center of Kharkiv.

In general, on the night of February 2, the Russian Federation, launched several strike drones towards Kharkiv. The spokesman for the regional prosecutor’s office, Dmytro Chubenko, noted that this was the third drone strike of this type on civilian warehouses and residential buildings in the city within a week.

Head of the regional military administration, Synegubov, added that the enemy also attacked the city of Lyubotyn in the Kharkiv region that night: at about 03:31, as a result of the UAV strike, an outbuilding was on fire, two cars, the roof of the house and outbuildings, and six other households around were damaged.

A 39-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man were injured: they were hospitalized with first- and second-degree burns and acute stress reactions.

On the morning of February 1, a “Shahed” hit a residential building in the Kholodnohirsky district of Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out in a private house, a woman died and five more people were injured.
