On August 17, the Russians shelled a medical facility, a children’s art center, and residential quarters in the Kherson region.
This is reported by the police of the Kherson region: “Russian troops randomly shelled Kherson, the center, Dnipro and Korabelny districts were under attack by the Russians. In the city, damage was recorded to multi-apartment and private buildings, shops, offices, a medical facility and a children’s art center. Fortunately, there were no casualties.”
The settlements of Berislavsky and Kherson districts came under attack from the left bank of the Dnieper by the Russian army. Enemy shells damaged houses and cars in Poniativka, Sadovoy, Stepanivka, Komyshany and Antonivka. In Tomynia Balka, residential buildings, a power line were damaged, and domestic animals were injured.
As reported by the police, the Russian troops continue to massively bombard the right bank of the Kherson region, trying to destroy key infrastructure facilities, and carry out massive shelling of residential areas using rocket salvo systems, artillery, mortars, tanks and unmanned aerial vehicles.
On August 17, the police responded to 288 statements and reports from citizens about criminal offenses and other events. 20 criminal proceedings were opened under Article 438 “Violation of laws and customs of war” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The Russian army is shelling civilian infrastructure from the left bank of the Kherson region. During this period, the church in the village of Dniprovske was seriously destroyed.
Bishop Nikodym of Kherson and Tavriyya, head of the Kherson Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, wrote in an address: “This morning, the Rashists sent a festive greeting on the eve of the Transfiguration of the Lord. With their enemy shelling, they seriously damaged the Ascension Temple in the village of Dniprovske, not far from Bilozerka. This temple was not captured by the enemy for the first time after the liberation of Kherson. We will stand, and their memory will be covered with dark sooty shame and unbearable spiritual stench!”
On August 18, the Russians attacked Kherson Oblast. Around 11:00 a.m., Russian troops shelled the village of Virivky in the Tyagin community of the Kherson region. As a result, a minor girl was injured.
Around 2:00 p.m., the Russians dropped explosives from a drone near a private house in the city of Beryslav. Two men, 35 and 34 years old, were injured. One has a leg injury, the other has a stomach injury. The victims were taken to the hospital.
Currently, priority measures are being taken to fix the crime committed by the Russian army.
