A huge plume of smoke and a prolonged detonation rose above the area after an explosion at a military factory in the village of Belitsa near Tryavna. According to preliminary information, a truck caught fire and a fire broke out in one of the ammunition depots.
“I inform all residents of the municipality of Tryavna that as a result of a burning truck, explosions occurred in part of the warehouses of the ammunition factory in the village of Belitsa. The National Alert System BG-ALERT will be activated. Access to the area is prohibited until the exact causes of the accident are established. Fire and police brigades have been sent to the scene,” said Chairman Dencho Minev.
According to the report of the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Demerdzhiev, residents of the nearest settlements are being evacuated.
