A Russian missile damaged a monument of constructivism in Kharkiv

Ivan Ponomarenko, tour guide, photographer and researcher of the history of Kharkiv, said that during the shelling on January 29, the monument of constructivism was damaged.

“It was built in 1930 according to the project of architects V. Trotsenko, V. Pushkarev and A. Pleshkov. The city authorities say that the entire entrance will have to be dismantled and rebuilt. But due to the status of an architectural monument from the point of view of the law, this process can be delayed for a very long time,” said Ponomarenko.

He noted that the reconstruction of the building will be difficult, and at the moment it is necessary to conserve the building so that it does not collapse further.

More than 18,000 objects were destroyed in Kharkiv region

“More than 18,000 objects were destroyed, of which more than 8,000 were housing stock. 4,000 are high-rise buildings and about 4,000 plus are private households.

Before the new year, we focused our attention on the restoration of critical infrastructure to ensure the restoration of electricity, water and heat supply during the winter period.

Along with this, several housing restoration projects were implemented – these are high-rise buildings in the city of Izyum, for example, in order for people to return and use their housing.

We already have about 105 schools planned in the region before the restoration – this is despite the fact that there will be approximately 150 schools in the state. This year, we plan to focus on the restoration of the housing stock,” said Oleg Synegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.
