On the morning of January 8, the Russians launched a massive rocket attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih and the Kryvyi Rih district. As a result of the attack, there is damage to buildings both in the city and in settlements near the district center. There are dead and wounded civilians. At exactly 7 o’clock in the morning, an explosion rang out in Kryvyi Rih. In a few minutes, the explosions were repeated. The Russian attack was confirmed by the head of the Kryvyi Rih Military Administration, Yevhen Sytnychenko: “Today, at 7 a.m., the enemy launched an attack on Kryvyi Rih. It was in the city that there was a hit near a shopping center, as a result of which a 58-year-old man was injured. Medics provided him with all the necessary assistance. Also near two dozen houses were partially damaged. A private house was hit in the Lozuvat community, resulting in the death of a 62-year-old woman.”

He added that utility services are working at the scene. As a result of the attack, the large shopping center “Sunny Gallery” was damaged.

Later, Yevhen Sytnychenko reported that the number of victims had increased in Kryvyi Rih. As of 2:00 p.m., two more people turned to doctors. One woman was hospitalized. Doctors assess her condition as moderate. Thus, a total of three people were injured in the city of Kryvyi Rih.

In particular, about 300 windows were broken in two city hospitals. Patients were transferred to other wards. Additional brigades of “Miskvodokanal” and “Sunservice” were involved in eliminating the consequences of the rocket attack in the city.

“The task of the crews, taking into account the weather conditions, is to close all OSB within a day. Glazing in sub-zero temperatures cannot be carried out – the glass will flake,” the press service of the city executive committee said in a statement. In three districts of the city, operational headquarters were created to receive applications for the payment of assistance from the city budget, and assistance is also issued from the city’s material reserve — film, OSB, and others. “In Kryvyi Rih, headquarters have been set up to help victims of the rocket attack. There, you can get the necessary building materials — OSB, film. Applications for payment are being accepted.

People whose homes have been damaged are also offered relocation if the home is damaged and living in it is not possible at the moment.

On January 8, the National Police reported that four Ukrainian civilians were killed as a result of Russian missile and drone fire. Rockets of the Russian Armed Forces damaged residential buildings, cars, a shopping center, and civil infrastructure objects.

On January 8, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on the results of repelling the Russian attack. Air defense forces managed to shoot down 8 Shaheds and 19 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
