As a result of the Russian massive shelling of Kharkiv and the region on the night of February 3, key energy facilities were damaged, in particular the Public Joint-Stock Company “Kharkivskaya TPP-5” and the Kharkivskaya and Zalyutyne electrical substations.
This was reported by Chairman Igor Terekhov.
According to him, some of the equipment at the specified facilities suffered significant damage. As a result, the heat supply to 929 facilities was stopped, of which 853 were residential buildings. Almost 105 thousand residents were left without heating.
The Chairman emphasized that the lack of heat and disruption of vital systems in the midst of the winter period pose a serious threat to the health of the population, especially children, the elderly and citizens with limited mobility.
The Emergency Situations Commission classified the incident as a local man-made emergency.
