A unique mosaic is under threat of destruction in Mariupol

In the temporarily captured Mariupol, a unique mosaic is under threat of destruction – a monumental panel from 1964 on the “Communication Building”.

This was reported by the press service of the Mariupol City Council: “The Russians have started dismantling the building. With its demolition, the unique work of art of monumentalism by Mariupol resident Viktor Arnautov “Conquerors of Space” will be destroyed.

The city council noted that this panel, which is the second mosaic in the city, is of no value to Russians and collaborators in the history and culture of Mariupol. They destroyed museums, mosaics, and historical buildings. Everything that local residents cherished and valued.

In Mariupol, temporarily occupied by the Russian army, the water tower – a historical symbol of the city – began to collapse.
