After Russian troops damaged the dam of the Kurakhiv Reservoir, about 20 million cubic meters of water spilled into the Vovcha River, causing a temporary rise in the water level in the villages along its course.
This was announced by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin.
According to him, before the damage to the dam, the reservoir contained about 55 million cubic meters of water, of which 20 million leaked beyond its borders. Despite the large volume of the leak, there is currently no flooding or threat to settlements in the surrounding areas.
Filashkin also reported that the children from Kurakhovo were evacuated earlier for safety.
About 17,000 people remain in the Pokrovsk community. people, including 246 children. There are 11,000 people in the city of Pokrovsk itself. people, 49 of them are children.
