Almost 100 houses were damaged by shelling in Zmiiv: what is happening there

On January 8, around 7:00 a.m., the city of Zmiiv was hit by a missile attack from the Russian Federation. The private sector of the city was at the epicenter of the explosion. As a result of the explosions, about 100 houses were damaged. One house was completely destroyed.

Pavlo Holodnikov, the mayor of the Zmiiv city council, told about it. As a result of the shelling, three people were injured, one woman died, her body was pulled out from under the rubble. A special commission was created in the Zmiiv city council, which has already begun to actuate the degree of destruction. A hotline telephone was working, where the victims were given consultations.

The day before, the city council began accepting applications from residents whose property was damaged. The townspeople are helped with building materials and things of primary need. And the family that lost their house will temporarily live with relatives. Earlier, “Comments. Kharkiv” reported that residential buildings damaged by shelling were being rebuilt in the Saltiv district. This is reported by the publication with reference to information from the Kharkiv City Council.

The city council said that last week restoration work began in another high-rise building. In April 2022, an enemy shell hit this building, destroying three floors of staircases and one apartment. Now specialists are dismantling the damaged elements for further restoration of the object. And the crews of the “Kharkivvodovidvieda” complex of the utility company “Kharkivvodokanal” are intensively continuing restoration and repair measures on the site of the sewer collector with a diameter of 400 mm and a depth of 6 meters in the Novobavar district.
