Almost 10,500 residential buildings and 300 km of roads in the Kherson district have been damaged since the beginning of the war

As of December 31, 2025, more than 10,700 objects have been damaged and destroyed in the deoccupied territory of the Kherson district, most of which are private residential buildings.

This is stated in the public report of the head of the Kherson district state (military) administration Mykhailo Zhadan for 2025.

In particular, according to preliminary data from the survey of settlements in 5 liberated communities of the district (Bilozerska, Darivska, Chornobaivska, Muzykivska and Stanislavska), as of the end of last year, 10,744 damaged and destroyed objects were recorded. Compared to the data at the end of 2024, their number increased by more than 2 thousand. As of January 1, 2025, 8,676 damaged and destroyed objects were recorded in the territories of the indicated communities.

Of the total number of damaged and destroyed objects in the Kherson district, almost 97% are private residential buildings.

Among the objects damaged as a result of hostilities are also roads. According to preliminary estimates, 277.9 km of road surface was damaged in the territories of the Bilozersk, Darivska, Muzykivska, Stanislavska and Chornobayvska communities, which requires priority restoration.

As of the beginning of 2025, more than 22 kilometers of road surface were restored, including more than 8 kilometers of streets.

In Kherson region, almost two thousand people have disappeared or been abducted by Russians since the beginning of the full-scale invasion

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, law enforcement officers have recorded the abduction of 1,992 people by representatives of the occupation authorities or the disappearance of 1,992 people in Kherson region.

This was reported by the head of the department for combating crimes committed in the context of the armed conflict, the Kherson regional prosecutor’s office, Oleksiy Butenko.

“Since the beginning of the armed conflict, the actions of the Russian military and the occupation authorities in the territory of the Kherson region have been accompanied by the commission of mass, grave and especially grave crimes. These include murders, torture, kidnappings, robberies, sexual violence, deportations, displacements, shelling of civilian objects – the terror of the civilian population continues daily,” the prosecutor noted.

According to him, the Kherson prosecutor’s office is investigating more than 40,000 crimes based on violations of the laws and customs of war. A significant part of them is the illegal deprivation of liberty and torture of civilians.

“Based on the indicated facts, the investigative units of the regional law enforcement agencies are investigating 1,186 criminal proceedings, including 28 related to the illegal deprivation of liberty of children,” Butenko emphasized.

Among those wanted, the prosecutor says, are the heads of cities and towns, deputies of various levels, law enforcement officers, clergymen and others.

“The investigation is aware of the release of 1,017 people. The Russians continue to illegally detain 923 people,” he said.

According to law enforcement officers, 29 of the abducted people died from torture or lack of medical care. Three more died after their release.

On the left bank of the Kherson region, the Russians have set up 13 torture chambers. Law enforcement officers also discovered nine more places of deprivation of liberty where detainees were subjected to torture and torture.

“One of the specified places of deprivation of liberty in the territory of the Kherson region is a pre-trial detention center, equipped by representatives of the Russian Armed Forces in the village of Chongar, Genichesk district. It began its activities in early 2023. Torture took place there, and Ukrainian citizens, against whom trials were held on falsified cases, also served their sentences,” the prosecutor’s office said.
