In the Donetsk region on October 12, as a result of Russian shelling, two people were killed and seven more were injured. This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
An 11-year-old boy was among the dead. According to law enforcement officers, he died as a result of being hit by a projectile in the village of Bagatyr of the Volnova district. His 6-year-old brother was wounded in the torso, and his mother was hospitalized with multiple lacerations.
A 44-year-old woman died in the town of Hirnyk, Pokrovsky District, due to a Russian attack. Her 24-year-old son-in-law was injured.
Avdiivka and the village of Halytsynivka of the Pokrovsky district also came under Russian shelling, four civilians were wounded.
Law enforcement officers have started pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings based on violations of the laws and customs of war (parts 1, 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The maximum penalty provided for in the articles is life imprisonment.
Earlier, the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Ihor Moroz, said that on October 11, the Russians killed two residents of Donetsk region.
On October 12, the head of the city military administration of Avdiyivka, Vitaly Barabash, reported that the enemy is attacking residential high-rise buildings for the third day and does not stop assaulting positions around the city. According to him, the situation in Avdiivka near the front is “very tense”.
