On the night of January 25, during an air alert, a Russian drone “Geran-2” attacked one of the energy infrastructure facilities of the Cherkasy region. The impact caused a fire, damaged critical infrastructure property, a number of buildings, structures and vehicles of the enterprise. This was reported by the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries.
Prosecutors, investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine, as well as explosives technicians of the State Emergency Service are working at the scene. The amount of damage is currently being determined.
The investigation is being conducted into the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 12 years.
