As a result of hostilities, damage to the environment of Zaporizhzhіa region was caused to the amount of almost 15 billion hryvnias

The State Ecoinspection conducts calculations of damage caused to the environment as a result of armed aggression and hostilities during martial law. As of December 1, the amount of losses in the Zaporizhzhia region is more than 14 billion 928 million 845 thousand hryvnias.

This is reported by the State Environmental Inspection of the Southern District.

These losses occurred as a result of soil contamination and littering of land with construction waste and fragments of combat parts of missiles and shells.

“Unfortunately, most of the territories of the Southern District are occupied or are subject to constant shelling, which does not yet allow all calculations to be carried out,” the message says.

At the same time, in the Kherson region for the same period (from February 24, 2022 to December 1, 2023), losses amounted to more than 1 billion 686 million 792 thousand hryvnias.
