As a result of the Russian missile attack on Poltava, 51 people are known to have died. A pre-trial investigation into the fact of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine has already begun.

On September 3, Russian troops carried out an air attack on the city of Poltava, previously with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The Russians targeted an educational institution and a hospital. The rockets hit so quickly after the alarm that people did not have time to evacuate to the bomb shelter. One of the buildings of the institute was partially destroyed, many people were trapped under the rubble.
As of 18:00, 51 people are known to have died as a result of the attack. More than 271 were injured.

Rescuers, an investigative and operational group and other services are working on the spot, and the demolition of the debris is ongoing. The number of victims is being clarified.

Rescuers have contained the fire and are clearing the debris. Thanks to their work, 25 people were saved, 11 of whom were rescued from the rubble. The victims are transferred to doctors for medical assistance.
