On the night of December 12-13, the Russian army shelled the Kharkov, Chuguevsky, Izyum and Kupyansky districts of the Kharkov region. The head of the regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, announced this.

According to him, in the Kupyansk direction, the Russian Federation used tanks and the entire range of artillery. Kislovka, Kotlyarovka, Tabaevka and Berestovoe came under fire.

“At night, the invaders launched a missile strike with the S-300 system on the city of Kupyansk. The missile hit a two-story administrative building, resulting in a fire on an area of ​​400 m2. The building was completely destroyed,” Signegubov wrote.

Later, he added, with reference to the data of the Regional Center for Emergency Medical Assistance, that after four o’clock in the morning an ambulance was fired upon, which was driving in Kupyansk to respond to a call. The paramedic, a 54-year-old man, was wounded. Help was rendered to him on the spot, the glass was shattered in the car by the blast wave.

Russian troops have been on the territory of the Kharkiv region since the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine – from February 24. In late August – early September, the Ukrainian military launched a counteroffensive in the south and east of the country, which ended with the liberation of a significant part of the region’s territory.

As of October 25, 1.8% of the territory of the Kharkiv region (34 settlements) was under the control of the Russians, the regional administration noted. As of December 8, the number of occupied settlements decreased to 29.

The occupiers continue to shell the settlements of the Kharkiv region daily.

Investigators exhumed the body of a 69-year-old man in the village of Krynychne, who died due to shelling by the Russian occupiers in the summer. The pensioner was near his home when Russia opened fire. Serhii Bolvinov, head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, reported this.

“During the occupation of a part of the Kharkiv region, active battles were fought throughout the territory of the Kharkiv region. As a result of Russian shelling of ordinary houses in the village of Krynychne, a 69-year-old pensioner died. On this day, June 23, Ivan was near his house, doing household chores. The man lived alone, his children live separately. The shrapnel hit him directly in the head,” Bolvinov said.

After the exhumation, a forensic examination was ordered.

On December 8, the bodies of a father and daughter were exhumed at the cemetery in the village of Kozacha Lopan (Dergachiv community). The family came under fire while preparing food in their yard.

In the territories of the Kharkiv region liberated by the Ukrainian army, the employees of the explosives service of the National Police continue to survey and demine settlements, since the beginning of the de-occupation measures, they have already cleared about 1,983.4 hectares of territory.

“Employees of the explosives service of the National Police of Ukraine have examined the territory with a total area of ​​about 1,983.4 hectares since the beginning of the de-occupation measures. 26,845 explosive items have been recovered, 4,518 have been destroyed,” reports the communications department of the State Police of the Kharkiv region.

In addition, law enforcement officers registered 3,670 war crimes committed by invaders during the occupation. Of these criminal proceedings, the vast majority (3,256) were registered under Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Another 356 criminal proceedings were initiated under Art. 111-1 (collaborative activity) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Over the past day, law enforcement officers together with the military checked 3,397 cars at checkpoints.

On suspicion of being involved in subversive intelligence groups and carrying out propaganda activities, 12 people were sent to the territorial units of the police for verification.

Pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service in the Kharkiv region examined more than two hectares of territory for the presence of explosive objects.

The press service of the State Emergency Service reported how the humanitarian demining of Kharkiv Oblast continues.

During the day of December 12, pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service carried out a survey of 2.4 hectares of territory and 1.1 km of power lines.

Sappers discovered and neutralized 193 units of enemy mines, explosives and ammunition.

22 pyrotechnic calculations of the State Emergency Service, consisting of 113 personnel and 44 units of equipment, were involved in the work.

In general, starting from September 8, pyrotechnicians surveyed 1,710 hectares of territory, 248.6 km of highways, 579.7 km of power lines, 156 km of railway tracks and 187 km of gas pipelines, where 45 thousand 950 GNPs were detected and neutralized.
