At the Chernobyl NPP, some equipment remains without power

Due to the consequences of the Russian attack that occurred on the night of February 14, some equipment of the New Safe Confinement at the Chernobyl NPP remains without power. This was stated by the Head of the State Nuclear Regulatory Commission of Ukraine Oleg Korikov.

“There are problems with the power supply, as emergency and rescue operations are underway and some equipment is without power due to the use of water,” Korikov said.

According to him, the lifting equipment at the facility is damaged, and the ventilation systems are not working. Korikov noted that the radioactive background at the Chernobyl NPP is currently within the limits that were before the attack.
