Attack on Mykolaiv: Russians damage thermal power plant, tens of thousands of consumers left without heat

During the night attack on Mykolaiv on February 16, Russian troops damaged a thermal power plant. 46 thousand subscribers remain without heat.

This was reported by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

“This was done deliberately to leave people without heat at sub-zero temperatures and create a humanitarian catastrophe,” the head of government believes.

The relevant services are already eliminating the consequences of the attack and are doing “everything possible” to restore heat supply to homes, schools and hospitals as soon as possible.

67 invincibility points have been deployed in the city, and 3 modular boiler houses have begun connecting to healthcare facilities.

Shmyhal instructed to hold a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies on this issue. Based on its results, a number of additional measures are planned to be taken to provide the townspeople with heat.

On the night of February 16, Russian troops attacked Mykolaiv with drones. In addition to damaging critical infrastructure, five apartment buildings, at least four shops, a restaurant and office premises were damaged in the city.

A 64-year-old man was also injured and hospitalized.
