Barbarians are barbarians – Nataliya Gumenyuk on the destruction of the unique Dzharylgach island by the Russians

The Russians connected Dzharylgach to the mainland. The Russians are destroying a unique island. In particular, the invaders set up their training grounds there.

This was told by the head of the press center of the Southern Security and Defense Forces. Nataliya Humenyuk emphasized that Russians are barbarians.

She also added that the Russians are trying in every way to settle where they hope that the Defense Forces will allegedly not get them.

On May 19, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported that the Russian military had connected Dzharylgach with the occupied mainland part of the Kherson region in the area of Lazurne. In particular, they covered the crossing to the island with sand. The Russians did this with the aim of more intensive use of the nature conservation area of the national park for military purposes, the General Staff emphasized.

What is known about the national natural park “Dzharylgatskyi”

The pearl of the park, an oasis of wild nature – Dzharylgach Island. It is the largest uninhabited island of Ukraine, one of the few places where the original unplowed steppe has been preserved, filled with the singing of larks, decorated with hundreds of lakes and coastal salt marshes with healing mud, outlined by snow-white beaches and fanned by a healing sea breeze.

The island itself is located between two bays of the Black Sea – Dzharylgatskaya and Karkinitskaya. Here you can often meet pods of dolphins accompanying ships.

The island’s unique wetlands are places that protect rare species of birds: pelicans, waders, puffins, shearwaters and large flocks of swans and ducks during migration flights.
