In the Mykolayiv region, due to the undermining of the Kakhovskaya dam, the road connecting the Kinbur spit occupied by the invaders with the mainland was flooded. At the same time, large-scale fires have been raging on the peninsula for two days.
“As of the evening of 07.06, in the area of the village of Heroyske, the road that connected the peninsula with the mainland is completely flooded – Kinbourn is cut off from the main land,” the message reads.
As predicted by experts, as a result of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, the isthmus at the end of the bay outside the Dnipro delta will be almost completely flooded approximately 50 hours after the dam breach.
It is noted that it is no longer possible to reach the mainland from the spit by land transport. At the same time, there are large-scale forest fires on the peninsula. This is evidenced by the data of the Pozhezhi automated system, the message added.
Previously, local residents reported large-scale fires on the peninsula, which have been going on for the second day. Fire-fighting equipment was stolen by the occupants, the company said.
Earlier, the head of the Mykolaiv regional military administration, Vitaly Kim, reported that, theoretically, due to the flooding of the road, the Kinbur spit may temporarily become an island. This will complicate the logistics of the Russians, noted Natalya Humenyuk, spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces.
