Before the Ukrainian counteroffensive, Ukrainian children are being deported en masse from the settlements adjacent to the demarcation line to the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea and to Russia.
This was noted by the executive director of the “Save Ukraine” charitable fund to help Ukraine, authorized by the President of Ukraine for children’s rights (2014-2021), Mykola Kuleba. According to him, information was made public a few days ago that 660 Ukrainian children, who had previously been collected from nearby settlements, were taken out of the temporarily occupied Berdyansk:
“Currently, we still do not know the locations where these children are, but we know that in the face of the threat of a counteroffensive by the Ukrainian armed forces, so-called evacuations are constantly taking place in the territories close to the demarcation line, and for us it is deportations, when children are taken away, put on buses and taken to an unknown destination.”
“As of five days ago, 660 children were taken out of Berdyansk, and now we can talk about thousands of children who are being taken back to enemy territory. We currently do not know what kind of children these are, what families they are from, and whether they have families at all,” Kuleba added.
On May 8, the head of the United Coordination Press Center of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine, Nataliya Gumenyuk, reported that the enemy is taking residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions to Berdyansk in order to create the illusion of care for civilians and, at their expense, to secure their units, which they are deploying on new frontiers.
According to the information of the Gauleiter of the temporarily occupied part of the Zaporizhzhya region, Balytskyi, as of the evening of May 7, 1,679 people, including 660 children, were relocated to Berdyansk. They are placed in “squeezed” recreation facilities in Berdyansk. Primorsk and Kyrylivka must also accept the deported people. However, there is information that further evacuation will be to the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. or even further.
