Belarus continues to periodically activate signal repeaters for Russian drones
According to the State Border Guard Service, signal repeaters that boost the signal for drones from the Russian Federation continue to be periodically activated within Belarusian territory.
Repeaters amplifying the signal for Russian drones attacking Ukraine—particularly its western regions—continue to be switched on periodically in Belarus.
This was reported by Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
In the early months of the war, Belarus served as a staging ground for the Russian offensive, while in 2023–2024, it became a vital rear base for the Russian army. Over the past two years, Minsk has also become part of Russia’s nuclear blackmail strategy.
Russian strikes on Ukraine’s western regions indicate that signal repeaters—which boost the signal for Russian drones—continue to operate or be activated periodically within Belarus.
According to Demchenko, the use of such repeaters can provide signal support for Russian drones as they fly over long distances.
At the same time, Ukrainian border guards have not yet observed any buildup of troops or personnel, nor the movement of military hardware, along the border with Belarus.
Media outlets previously reported that Belarus is constructing a new military training ground, complete with a railway spur, near the Ukrainian border. Additionally, the Lukashenko regime is forming a new air assault brigade near the border with Ukraine.
