Car cemetery and deportation of Central Asians: how and what Mariupol lives under occupation

The people of Mariupol under occupation have fewer rights than the so-called “citizens of Russia” who are brought in for “restoration works”, and the city itself continues to stand destroyed with garbage dumps in the middle of the settlement.

Automobile junkyard

The Russians gathered hundreds of cars in one place in Mariupol. No one cleans or takes them away from here. These are cars that were damaged or destroyed when the Russians shelled the city. Once, residents could use them to leave the blockade.

As the director of Mariupol television Mykola Osychenko notes, many such cars have stains of congealed blood, often children’s blood, because many cars with whole families came under Russian fire while trying to get out of Mariupol.

“These are hopes for survival that have been shot down. It was on these cars that the people of Mariupol could escape from the Russian bombs, but the Russians did everything so that peaceful people were held hostage by the besieged city and were unable to leave. They also destroyed public transport, which was intended for evacuating people. Likewise, humanitarian aid from the controlled territory of Ukraine was not missed,” the Mariupol City Council wrote.

Mariupol for the “rich”

In the middle of the center of the destroyed city, near the crushed and charred houses, the occupiers opened the restaurant “Rich Lounge”, which can be translated as “Recreation for the rich” or “Rich recreation”.

It is interesting that opposite the institution there is a central department store, of which, in fact, nothing remains. Thus, Russians do not care too much about the beautification or repair of the city, but calmly open establishments where you can relax to good music. But the main thing is not to look outside, so as not to spoil the impression.

Resettlement of “Russian citizens” and deportation of Ukrainians

In Russia, they made a “decision” to deport Ukrainians from their hometowns, where martial law has been imposed, and to detain them for 30 days if a person “violated” Putin’s bans.

“The forced and controlled transfer” of people will be carried out to places where martial law has not been imposed,” said Andrii Klishas, one of the authors of the amendments, head of the Federation Council’s Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.

In particular, the mentioned amendments are allegedly aimed at safety, protection of life and health of citizens. And also for the “realization of their electoral rights.”

Thus, more and more so-called “Russian citizens” are brought to Mariupol and other occupied cities. In particular, they even started a separate support program for them and started building private houses for resettlement.

“At the same time, residents of Mariupol are offered only a bed in a dormitory. Not a room. Cot That shelf in the closet. The “gentle” deportation of the Ukrainian and indigenous population in Mariupol continues,” commented Petro Andryushchenko, adviser to the chairman.

Earlier, Putin signed a decree that provides for the deportation of Ukrainian citizens from the annexed territories of Ukraine if they are considered a “security threat.” Yes, residents of these regions must obtain a Russian passport by July 1, 2024. If they refuse, they can be deported.
