In the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions of Ukraine, it became known about the outbreak of crimes of sexual violence committed by the Russian military.
The Eastern Human Rights Group reported that the majority of crimes committed in the temporarily occupied territories are sexual violence.
“Russian law enforcement agencies hide such statistics. “Usually, the mass media reports the following: ‘A recidivist has been arrested for committing rape,’ but the fact that this recidivist was in the Russian army is kept silent,” the message reads.
Also, local lawyers note that the number of Russian crimes against civilians has increased by 32%, of which 18% are crimes of sexual violence.
In addition, cases of kidnapping and sexual violence against minors have increased in the temporarily occupied territories.
