On the night of April 27, during an air raid, the Russians attacked the Zhytomyr region. Russian suicide drones damaged at least 15 residential buildings, industrial facilities and four cars. One person was hospitalized due to “acute stress reaction”, and two police officers were injured during the second strike.
This was reported by the head of the Zhytomyr regional military administration, Vitaly Bunechko.
He specified that the attacks caused significant damage to civilian infrastructure, in particular, damaged buildings and equipment. Repeated strikes during the liquidation of the consequences of the attacks led to injuries to police officers, who are currently being treated. From time to time, the fragments of downed drones caused fires in open areas, which were quickly extinguished by rescuers.
Rescuers of the State Emergency Service noted that fires broke out at several sites, including warehouses and dry grass. Damage was caused to residential buildings, outbuildings and cars. One person was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “acute stress reaction”.
The command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that 57 Russian UAVs were destroyed as a result of strikes by Russian drones. Drones that were trying to reach their targets were shot down in various areas of the front.
The air alert in the Zhytomyr region lasted from 23:47 on April 26 to 03:16 on April 27. It was accompanied by new strikes.
It is impossible not to recall the previous attacks on April 23-24, when Russian shelling damaged private garages, caused fires and explosions in apartment buildings. Rescuers and railway workers were injured then.
On April 10, 2025, a Russian drone hit a residential building in the village of Ozerne. As a result, one person died and six others, including a child, were injured.
Zhytomyr region continues to be in the zone of active attacks by Russians. Local services are working to eliminate the consequences and provide assistance to the victims.
