On June 18, work continues to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack on Odessa. As a result of the massive attack on Odessa on June 17, dozens of residential buildings were damaged in the Primorskyі district.
The most damaged buildings were on Oleksiy Markevich and Novoselsky streets. This was reported by the chairman of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov.
As of 12:00, experts recorded: damage to 51 residential buildings, of which at least 6 were significantly destroyed; more than 130 apartments were damaged, many of them had broken windows, damaged doors and balcony blocks; more than 200 m² of roofs were destroyed; in some buildings, life support elements – water supply, electricity – were disconnected.
Emergency teams of municipal services were promptly involved immediately after the attack. Priority work is underway to seal windows, inspect structures, and prepare for roof repairs. Also, temporary housing has been provided to all victims who lost their homes. Two families are currently staying at the Center for Social and Psychological Assistance of the Odessa City Council. All residents have been informed about the possibility of receiving monetary compensation from the city for renting housing. Psychologists, social services, and volunteers are working. Work to eliminate the consequences continues.
