
On January 17, Russian troops attacked the right bank of the Kherson region with artillery, mortars and drones of various types. As a result of the Russian attacks, four private residential buildings, a civilian car, and an administrative building were damaged.
The press service of the Kherson Region Police reported in detail about the consequences of the Russian shelling.
In Sofiivka, a 51-year-old local resident died as a result of an attack by a Russian drone that dropped ammunition. Medics fought for her life, but the injuries she received turned out to be fatal.
In Zelenivka, a 28-year-old civilian woman was injured as a result of artillery shelling. The victim was hospitalized with multiple shrapnel wounds, and doctors assess her condition as mild.
In the village of Novoberyslav, Beryslav district, the body of a 63-year-old local resident was found under the rubble of a house destroyed by tank shelling. The man died from non-life-threatening blast injuries.
Four private residential buildings were damaged as a result of the attacks in settlements in the Kherson district. Blast waves and shell fragments damaged roofs and facades of buildings, and windows in residential areas were broken. Fortunately, there were no deaths or injuries.
A civilian car was also damaged as a result of a Russian drone attack in Novovorontsovka. The vehicle received mechanical damage as a result of the blast wave and ammunition fragments.
On January 17, the Kherson region police opened 10 criminal proceedings under Article 438 “War Crimes” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
