Died together with her mother: the ex-footballer became a victim of the Russian missile attack on Kyiv on December 29

Former Ukrainian soccer player Viktoriya Kotlyarova became one of the victims of a rocket attack on Kyiv by the Russian state on December 29. In three weeks, the girl would have turned 28 years old.

This is reported by the Women’s sport UA project. It is known that the former athlete died together with her mother Lyudmila. Kotlyarova, whose maiden name was Chornovil, played for a number of Ukrainian clubs.

Victoria played as a midfielder. Before transitioning to professional football, Kotlyarova defended the colors of the national team of Kyiv University named after Borys Grinchenko.

On the night of December 29, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with dozens of missiles of various types. Anti-aircraft defense destroyed more than 30 air targets over Kyiv, but fragments of rockets fell, in particular, on private houses. This attack on the capital became the deadliest in terms of the number of victims among the civilian population. As of January 1, 28 deaths are known.
