Drohobych residents urged to stay home after night shelling

On the night of June 29, Russian forces carried out one of the most powerful attacks on the Lviv region, using Shahed strike drones and cruise missiles. As a result of the shelling, two critical industrial infrastructure facilities in the region were hit. One of them is within the Drohobych community, where a large-scale fire broke out as a result of the strike.

Part of Drohobych was left without electricity. Power crews are already working to restore power.

The city authorities are urging residents of the community to close their windows, not leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, and to refrain from moving around the affected facility. Law enforcement officers have blocked the entrances to the explosion zone and are monitoring public order.

According to the city council, there are no civilian casualties. No casualties have been recorded.

In Lviv itself, the situation remained under control, civilian buildings were not damaged. Thanks to the effective work of the air defense, large-scale destruction was avoided.

According to the Air Command “West”, 15 X-101 cruise missiles and 24 Shahed drones were destroyed during the attack.

Emergency services are working on the ground, and the consequences of the shelling are being eliminated.
