On the night of July 24, an enemy drone hit the field base of the Norwegian humanitarian organization Norwegian People’s Aid in Mykolaiv. It is engaged in demining southern Ukraine.
According to the head of the organization’s field department, Rune Dale-Andersen, the premises were damaged, but there were no casualties. At the time of the attack, there were no personnel in the camp, so only material objects were damaged.
“We do not yet know whether it was a drone shot down by Ukrainian forces or whether it really hit our base. We are working to find out,” the organization’s representative said.
Norwegian People’s Aid employs about 400 employees who are involved in humanitarian demining in southern Ukraine. According to Dale-Andersen, this is the first time a drone has been so close to their base in Mykolaiv.
