The morning of May 22 in Kyiv began with alarm and the hum of air defense. As a result of the work of air defense forces, debris from a downed Russian drone fell directly onto the territory of one of the schools in the Darnytskyi district of the capital. This was reported by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko.
Fortunately, the incident was without casualties. According to Tkachenko, no one was injured, and no fire was recorded. However, the fact that debris fell onto the territory of the educational institution raised the issue of the safety of civilians, including children.
After the incident, rescuers from the State Emergency Service, representatives of the city military administration, explosives technicians, and police quickly arrived at the scene.
The territory was quickly surrounded, access to the school was temporarily restricted. An examination of the debris landing site was conducted to exclude the presence of explosive objects.
