The strike hit a platform where a suburban electric train and a passenger train were stationed.
Evacuation of the electric train—which was preparing to depart for Zaporizhzhia—began more than ten minutes before the explosion. Passengers were moved out of the carriages following an air raid alert.
Warnings were broadcast throughout the station complex, intended to direct passengers to shelters.
