Drone strike on Odessa region damages energy infrastructure

On the night of November 16, the Russian armed forces carried out an attack on the civilian infrastructure of the Odessa region using strike drones. As a result of the actions, energy facilities were damaged, but there were no casualties.

This was reported by the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Kiper.

It was recorded that no people were injured as a result of the attack in the Odessa region, the prosecutor’s office informs.

Energy facilities were damaged in one of the districts of the Odessa region. Prosecutors are working at the scene in cooperation with the police, the prosecutor’s office reported.

Oleg Kiper noted that during the attack on the Odessa region, energy facilities were damaged, in particular, a solar power plant. The fires that arose were promptly extinguished by the State Emergency Service.

Invincibility points were deployed in the affected area. Life support and critical infrastructure facilities have been switched to backup power, the head of the regional military administration added.

An air alert was declared in the region at 23:30 due to the threat of the use of ballistic weapons from the south. The alarm was lifted at 23:46.

At 0:01, the air alert again notified of the threat. The Air Force reported the movement of UAVs in the direction of Odessa, later the strike drones continued their course towards the Mayaki community in the Odessa region. At 0:37, the Air Force warned of the movement of UAVs from the Black Sea area towards Sergiyevka. The alarm was lifted at 1:19.

Later, at 5:19, the air alert again notified of the movement of a group of UAVs in the west of the Mykolaiv region, heading towards the Odessa region. At 5:37 a.m., the Air Force warned to stay in shelters due to the threat from an attack UAV in the Odessa area. The alert was lifted at 6:23 a.m.
