On the night of March 5, Russian troops carried out a massive drone and missile strike on the suburbs of Odessa and the Odessa region, which resulted in the death of a 77-year-old man. This was reported by the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, on Wednesday, March 5.
According to him, during another air alert, the Russian occupiers attacked the Belgorod-Dniester district with a ballistic missile. It hit a sanatorium, the building of which suffered significant damage.
“A man died as a result of a Russian drone attack in the suburbs of Odessa. A 77-year-old resident of the village of Lymanka died from shrapnel wounds,” the regional military administration reported.
The Russian shelling damaged critical infrastructure in Odessa – part of the city was left without electricity, water and heat. In addition, private houses in the suburbs were damaged by the debris of downed drones, and fires broke out in several places.
Representatives of the State Emergency Service published photos of the consequences of the strike, emphasizing the large-scale destruction and fires in the private sector.
“Large-scale destruction, fires in private houses, civilian and critical infrastructure were affected. More than 60 rescuers were eliminating the consequences of terror,” the report said.
It was previously noted that the Russians attacked Odessa with drones. The city was partially left without electricity, heat, and water supply.
“As of this morning, heat and water supply in Odessa are operating normally. Power engineers are continuously continuing restoration work to restore electricity to every home,” the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration provided updated information.
